Owen Dewitt of the Sicamous Eagles is this week’s Young Guns, presented by the Next Shift Network, as he scored four goals in two games. It’s the second time that Dewitt is selected as a Young Guns.
Dewitt netted a hat-trick against the Chase Heat on Dec. 5, his second of the season, and scored the winner against Kelowna on Dec. 9. Eagles Head Coach-GM Nick Deschenes said the hometown product is “a young, up-and-coming player.”
“He’s been very opportunistic the last couple of games. We’re a pretty balanced offensive group,” said Deschenes. “If someone like him is contributing like that, then our chances of winning a game are definitely a lot higher.”
Dewitt is fourth overall among KIJHL points leaders with 13 goals and 24 assists in 26 games. His 37 points leads all KIJHL rookies.
