The Eagles Nest

The Eagles Nest

The Sicamous Eagles Junior Hockey Club, the District of Sicamous and long time team sponsor TA Structures are very excited to share the news of a Eagles Nest pilot project.

Finding enough billet homes for junior hockey players is hard work every season for most if not all junior hockey clubs and can be especially hard in small towns. Sicamous has the smallest population of all KIJHL teams with approximately 2500 year round residents and we put a lot of work into finding billet homes each and every season. With the addition of COVID-19 concerns and billet homes not being quite as eager to accommodate, we really felt it was perfect time to put The Eagles Nest pilot project into action.

The Eagles Nest will be home to the Sicamous Eagles for the 2020/21 Season!
Players and coaching staff will live in The Eagles Nest which will be located on the same property as our arena, only about 100 feet away from the Eagles players entrance.
That’s right, WOW!!! The benefits of doing this are countless, but we are especially excited about bringing all of the team together under one roof. We are Family and will all live in one Nest.

We are so fortunate to have a local Manufacturer like TA Structures, a division of Twin Anchors Manufacturing, to create the 3200+ square foot dormitory style accommodation that is equipped with a common living/entertainment area, a large kitchen, dining area, 2 large group bathrooms and 12 double bedrooms each with closets and desks. WiFi is available throughout. The Nest will house 20 players, 1 coach or assistant coach and be supervised 24/7.

Players will be responsible to keep rooms neat and clean, provide their own linens, do their own laundry and clean up after themselves at mealtimes. Players bedrooms and bathrooms must be cleaned and maintained by the players themselves, which will be monitored by the coaching staff. The Eagles Nest common areas including bathrooms will be cleaned and sanitized throughout the week by cleaning staff. In addition to cleaning staff the Sicamous Eagles Society is currently preparing a request for proposals to contract with a chef/cook who will provide healthy nutritional meals for our players. All staff will be required to pass a Criminal Record Check and a Vulnerable Sector Check as well as have an up to date Respect in Sport certification.
