Eagles Awards Banquet

We played our last game of the regular season Saturday night, parents and volunteers joined the team Sunday for our year end banquet.

Assistant GM Rob Sutherland gave an inspiring speech to the players that as always came from the heart. Rob has been the one constant for the team from the beginning of the season, so it was fitting he presented the players with their awards.

Awards were presented to the following players:

Most Improved Player: Alex Smith

Heart & Hustle Award: Nash Hodgetts

Top Defenceman: Isaac Thomas

Rookie of the Year: Ethan Matiece

Most Valuable Player: Hayden Fast

On Ice Crew Chief: Cohen Dupuis

It was great to have our volunteers join us and be recognized for their commitment and effort to make game days run smoothly especially through these challenging times.

A special thank you to Ian and Doug at the Narrows Smokehouse for their generous sponsorship of the team dinner and to Shane Petit and Okanagan Restoration Services for supplying the refreshments.

The team lead by Coach Nick Deschenes are now preparing to take on the Revelstoke Grizzlies in the first round of playoffs. The best in seven series starts tonight, the first two games take place in Revelstoke on Tuesday February 22nd and Wednesday February 23rd, returning to Sicamous for games 3 & 4 on Friday February 25th and Saturday February 26th… game 5 is back in Revelstoke on February 28th then back to Sicamous March 1st, and game 7 will be March 2nd in Revelstoke.
