Vaillancourt Affiliated to BCHL

We are very pleased to announce that 17 year old Sicamous Eagles forward Zach Vaillancourt has been affiliated to the BCHL’s Cowichan Valley Capitals.

Zach played 20 games as a KIJHL rookie with the Eagles this season, scoring 2 goals with 5 assists and 12 PIM.

In order for Zach to be closer to Duncan, BC where the Cowichan Valley Capitals play, the Sicamous Eagles agreed to move Zach closer to the team. The Eagles have traded Zach to the Lake Cowichan Kraken of the VIJHL for a PDF. This move puts Zach 20 minutes down the road and enables him to be there to make that next step.

“It is hard to lose a skilled player like Zach, he gives it his all on the ice, a nice skater with a great shot and good in the dressing room, but Zach is also a good person with good values that does well at school. It was really hard to move Zach but it was the right thing to do to help an Eagle move up to the next level.” says Eagles interim Head Coach and GM Rob Sutherland.

Zach plays his first game with the Kraken on Sunday, January 9, 2022 vs the Campbell River Storm at 5:30 pm. Good luck Zach!
