Last evening we said a special thankyou to long time Eagle…Rob Sutherland…
If you have lived in Sicamous and been in sports then you have heard the name Rob Sutherland. Baseball or Hockey…he’s the guy. He has served on numerous boards, volunteered, filled in and stepped up too many times to count. We often joked he was the man of many hats, but its no joke, Rob has done everything and been everything in both ball and hockey.
When it comes to the Eagles…he has been head coach, gm, coach trainer, gameday coordinator, volunteer coordinator, on ice personnel, videographer, and announcer…the list goes on and on. Rob has decided its time to step down…although we can’t blame him, we cannot imagine the Eagles without Rob Sutherland and hope he will find something he would like to do instead of have to do which has been the case over the last several years because there was no one else. No matter what Rob decides to do, there is always a place for him on the Eagles team….we could not have gotten where we are today without Rob! Rob has kept the us going when times were tough, he has been a leader and a friend to all. As we enter our 30th season we would like to add Rob Sutherland’s name to a very esteemed list. He should be proud to be included with the likes of Doug Birks and Wayne March…the Sicamous Eagles are their legacy…and they are Rob’s too. Thank you Rob from the bottom of our hearts… like you always say once an Eagle always and Eagle.
