Eagles Add Assistant Coach Connor McLuckie

The Sicamous Eagles are pleased to announce the addition of Assistant Coach Connor McLuckie, to the Eagles coaching staff for 2022-23.

Connor is from Cranbrook, BC where he grew up playing minor hockey. He finished playing for the Cranbrook AA Ice Midget team in 2010-11 ending the season with a provincial gold medal. Connor played for the Fernie Ghostriders and the Golden Rockets in the KIJHL for the 2011-12 season before having his season ended early due to injuries. Connor stopped playing competitively in 2012 due to those injuries.

He would start coaching in the 2019-20 season as an assistant coach for the East Kootenay Tier 1 Avalanche where he spent two seasons as an Assistant Coach before taking over the Head Coach role for the program for the 2021-22 season. Connor says, “I learned a lot in that role and what it takes to be a coach and develop players to achieve team and personal goals. I’m looking forward to what this season has to offer with the challenges it will present and having the opportunity to develop as a coach working with Nick.” Connor added that, “As a coach I bring competitiveness and attention to detail with the hopes of getting young athletes to move towards their goals and build good character both on and off the ice.”

The Eagles continue to build the family and Connor is another piece that will bring benefits to our team.
