It is unfortunate but we have had to cancel the Sicamous Eagles 2021 Prospects Camp.
The chiller at the Sicamous & District Recreation Centre went down at the end of May 2021. A new chiller was ordered right away and we went into the waiting game a bit while the new piece of equipment was completed being built and then shipped to Sicamous from Quebec. This caused us to have to cancel the originally scheduled Prospects Camp for July 16-18, 2021 and we re-scheduled it for August 23-25, 2021 hoping the new chiller would be in place and ready to go.
Last week we were informed by arena staff that the chiller and ice would not be ready for Sep 23rd and that we are looking at the middle of September for the ice to be ready. Because we have cancelled and re-scheduled already once, because we don’t know for sure when the ice will actually be ready and because we are running out of having enough time for the Prospects Camp…we made the decision to cancel the Prospects Camp for 2021 and move right into Main Camp when we hit the ice.
Sicamous Eagles GM Ron Sleeman has called all players registered for the Prospects Camp to notify them of the cancellation.
