Local Salmon Arm 16 year old and Sicamous Eagles d-man Ezra Chan played his first game in the BCHL with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks this past weekend against the West Kelowna Warriors. The Silverbacks won the game 4-1, their third win in a row puts them 3 points back of the Vernon Vipers for the lead in the Vernon Pod, with 1 game in hand. Ezra played 2 games in 2019-2020 as a 15 year old AP with the Eagles and got another 2 games in this season, putting up an assist with the Eagles before COVID shut the KIJHL down for the year.
Eagles Assistant GM Rob Sutherland watched the Silverbacks game on www.HockeyTV.com and says, “The Backs played a good game start to finish. They looked confident and were strong on the body both with and without the puck. Ezra looked good when he got the call, handled a hit on his first shift and played the body well later on. It was a good first taste and another step up for Chan and we are super happy for him.”
The Silverbacks have three games remaining on their Pod Season Schedule
May 5 @ 7:30 pm VS West Kelowna Warriors
May 7 @ 7:00 pm VS Vernon Vipers
May 8 @ 6:00 pm VS West Kelowna Warriors
