Eagles Name Rob Sutherland as Assistant General Manager

Rob Sutherland Asst GM

The Sicamous Eagles are extremely proud to announce that long-time volunteer and family member Rob Sutherland is resuming his role as Assistant General Manager following years of integral efforts within the organization.

Rob spent the last six seasons under the tutelage of former GM Wayne March, saying “Wayne has been helping me transition from minor hockey to junior hockey and I just can’t say enough good things about him. I’ve been listening to him and seeing what he did for the Eagles all these years, and also for me as a minor hockey coach. These last few years I’ve tried to be Wayne’s right hand guy, when Wayne asks me to do something or learn how to do it, I do.”

General Manager Ron Sleeman says that Sutherland will play a large role in the future of the team, “I’ve been working with Rob daily since I took over the job, and his commitment to this team is second to none – we’re lucky to have him. He’s a selfless person and his values are exactly what we require to succeed.”

Sutherland brings experience from many roles over his decades at the rink, including 20 seasons as a minor hockey coach in Calgary, Sicamous, Revelstoke, North Okanagan and Salmon Arm; with his most recent Head Coach stint being with the Salmon Arm Bantam Rep T3 Silverbacks in 2019-2020 – who went 11-3-2 during the regular season to claim a banner.

The Eagles would like to thank Rob for all of his work over the past seasons, and we can’t wait to see what comes next.
