Shea Hits 1000 Games

Shea Weber

Shea Weber collected an assist on the winning goal by Tyler Toffoli in a 5-3 victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Feb.2, his 1,000 NHL game.

The Sicamous native, a second round pick, 49th overall by the Nashville Predators, saw 23:33 of ice time. He now has two goals and seven points in 10 games this season. It was his 237th regular season game with the Canadiens, and he played 663 with the Predators, before being traded for P.K. Subban.

Weber spoke to the media before playing in his milestone game. “It’s special. It’s something that as a kid you dream of playing in the NHL, you think that it’s going to come true, and you imagine it,” says Weber on NHL.com. “Realistically, you know it’s a lot tougher than people realize and it’s tough to do, so just making it here is really special. Making it this long and having a career with this many games is something that I never really imagined. I dreamed about it, but it’s pretty surreal.”
