Eagles Graduates

The Sicamous Eagles Hockey Club is proud of its position of being a major source of talent for the Junior "A" leagues in Western Canada. It's something that has grown to be a tradition with us since we first joined the KIJHL in 1994. In fact, the KIJHL and all its member teams play a significant role in graduating players to Junior "A", the college ranks and beyond (picture: Kris Beech - Pittsburgh Penguins). Highest Honours

Many Eagles players have gone on to enjoy success at the junior hockey levels in leagues throughout Canada as well as the college and university ranks. However, no one has enjoyed it as much as defenseman, Shea Weber.

After winning a Western Canadian Junior "B" Championship with the Eagles, Shea went to Kelowna to play junior "A" hockey and continued his winning ways. He helped the Rockets to three straight Memorial Cup tournaments, winning in 2004. He also won a gold medal for Canada at the 2005 World Junior Championship and then played a big part on Canada's World Championship team last year that went 9-0 and won the gold medal in Russia. Take a drive through the streets of Sicamous and you'll be sure to come across "Shea Weber Way", so named after a quiet small town hero who graduated with honors to the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League.

And, there's definitely nothing quiet about the way Shea Weber plays the game. His shot is loud and lethal. His bodychecks are noisy and downright nasty. Simply put, the 6-foot-3, 213-pounder from Sicamous, B.C., makes an impact at both ends of the rink.
